Advice is an uncountable noun; advise is a verb. Write “a piece of advice” for one recommendation and “please advise” when asking someone to respond.

Piece of advice

Use when

You need to count one recommendation.

Example

“She gave the project team one useful piece of advice.”

Advise

Use when

You need the verb meaning give a recommendation or information.
